LEAD (Leaders with Education, Affection, and Direction) ministry training is a three-year formal program, conducted within the church, which is designed to train and equip the next generation of ministry leaders in the church. The program emphasizes three major areas that are considered to be vital in training for ministry leadership: Education (Head), Affection (Heart), and Direction (Hands).
Education:Since an effective ministry leader must be a diligent student of God’s Word, a program consisting of both required and elective courses is given. These courses are taught by NHCC Elders, visiting church leaders and seminary professors.
Affection: The program also makes extensive use of personal mentoring relationships. Spiritual mentors assist students in identifying and working on areas for greater spiritual development, and also in a growing love for God, His Word, and His people.
Direction: Practical ministry skills are best learned, developed, and refined through hands-on experience. Therefore, once the student has expressed specific ministry burdens or desires, individual ministry and leadership goals are designed for him or her.
