About the Class
Teaching the Text is an introduction to a transferable method of developing the skill to more effectively teach and preach God’s word. This highly-relational and interactive training will immerse students in the book of Jonah and focus on learning hermeneutical principles for faithfully communicating God’s heart through God’s words. All students, including those auditing, will be requested to actively participate in the dig and discover sessions and prepare brief expositional outlines on selected sections of the book of Jonah.
About the Instructors
Doug Dunton and Todd Kelly both serve at Leadership Resources International, a Chicago-based ministry that seeks to launch pastoral training movements worldwide. Throughout Asia, Africa, and the Americas, Leadership Resources equips small groups of national pastors to teach God’s Word with the heart of a shepherd. Training movements are launched as these groups of leaders commit to the principle of 2 Timothy 2:2 and train second and third generation pastors and leaders. North Hills Community Church currently partners with LRI to train two groups of leaders in Ethiopia. LRI has provided the strategy, vision, and curriculum and together we have seen God launch the beginnings of what we believe will be a self-sustaining training movement.
