God worked powerfully on Sunday, May 5 as we learned from Ben Arnold how the most God-glorifying response to God’s grace is to worship and ask for more (from Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 3:14-21). Listen to Ben’s message here. Almost 30 people were baptized, testifying to God’s saving grace in their lives.

“Life can be tough. Christians are nowhere promised that they will escape the struggles and difficulties common to all humanity: poverty, disease, broken relationships, and death. In fact, Christ promises us more suffering, as we try to live God-pleasing lives in a culture that is going the other way. This is the world we all live in, and the key question that Peter addresses in his first letter is this: how should we respond to the suffering we experience? This week’s questions are focused around our need to pray for God to give us the strength to comprehend the love that Jesus has for us! If anyone in your group was unable to attend on Sunday please suggest that they watch the video on our website.

The greatest demonstration of the love of Jesus for his people is the cross. Take time to read through these suggested passages together. Respond in prayer by thanking God for this amazing demonstration of love. Read Isaiah 53 and John 19.
In what ways has God demonstrated his love for you in the past week?
What are practical ways that we can remind/share the reality of Jesus’ love for us?
Ben spoke about the reality that when Jesus “takes up residence” that he will “renovate” our heart so it reflects his love. In this section, Ben mentioned that there may be areas of our hearts that we are desiring to hold onto, or keep closed. Are there areas that you don’t want Jesus to have control of, or areas where you are afraid of what that “renovation” will look like? If so, share those with the group. Respond by praying that people would understand the love of Jesus so these areas will be changed.
“The path to maturity is experiencing the love of Jesus by the power of God.” How can we be part of the maturing process in each other’s lives in the midst of our own sin, struggles, discouragement, disappointment, successes, joys, etc.?
