As musicians and artists, we desire to use our talents and abilities to glorify God and serve the church. If God has gifted you in the area of music, there is always a place for you to serve. In addition to providing music for Sunday services, we also assist to provide music for all ages, from two years old all the way through high school.

If you desire to serve, we have established a process that will help us get to you and your musical ability and allow you to learn a little more about the music ministry at NHCC.

First, though we do not require that every musician is a member, each musician must be in the process of completing or have already completed CONNECTIONS. This starting point for newcomers will introduce you to NHCC and our philosophy of music.

Secondly, we hold auditions semi-annually. Watch and listen for announcements online and in the worship services. If you wish, you may contact Raina Tuten (rainat@nhcconline.com) to find out when the next audition is scheduled.  Since we schedule in time blocks, you must contact Raina and receive a confirmation before you come to an audition.  Please remember, this is NOT a high-stress “American Idol” style competition.  It is simply an opportunity for the music staff to hear you play or sing in order to know how the church can best benefit from your giftedness.

Thirdly, after you receive confirmation for an audition, complete the Worship Ministry Information Sheet.  Print it out and bring the completed form to your audition.

Lastly, in the days and weeks following your audition, someone from the music staff will contact you and let you know how we think you will fit in the mix of musicians.

Don’t worry! This is not a discouraging time of being judged by others, but it is often an encouraging time to see how you fit and how God will use your sacrifice of praise to Him!
